PROJECT
Amor Ex Machina is a 3D stealth/puzzle game for PC where the player plays as Gabriel, a sentient robot trying to save his kidnapped partner. In the game, the player must navigate through a heavily guarded robot facility and remain unseen. The game was developed by Backstreet Bots, a team of seven second-year Game Design students, in ten weeks as a vertical slice project at Uppsala University.
Upon release, the game participated in Gotland Game Conference 2020 on itch.io where the game received positive feedback. Out of 39 entries, the game was voted by the public as the ninth best game overall, and the third best in Storytelling. The game also ranked in the top 10 in the Audio, Art Direction, and Presentation (itch.io) categories.
SUMMARY OF CONTRIBUTIONS
I was responsible for the UX/UI design, rigging and animating the 3D characters, and graphic design (including logos and material such as posters for GGC). I was also responsible for the original gameplay concept.
I collaborated with a team of six others in game design and story.
I collaborated with another artist in art direction and the creation of 3D assets for the environment and was a part of implementing these assets into Unity.
I voiced the AI, one of the three main characters in the game.
